Livin' Large Day 3 Devotion

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Grace—it is possibly the greatest word in God’s vocabulary. Everything in the Christian life begins and ends with grace. God graciously saves us. God graciously sustains us and God will graciously see us to our eternal home with Him in Heaven. Grace is God’s mercy, forgiveness, power and love freely given to us in Christ. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We cannot earn our salvation. We do not deserve our salvation. We can only receive our salvation as a gift of grace. Faith is the conduit to receive the grace of God. Faith is a humble acceptance of our inability and a complete trust in God’s infinite ability. Faith believes and acts upon what God says is true. And even this response is of grace, it is not from us, it is the gift of God. Through Jesus Christ, God has saved us by His grace. That’s the good news of the gospel!
Take some time to reflect on God’s grace. Thank Him for saving you and for blessing you with His grace. Ask God to make you strong in grace. Humble yourself before the Lord, realizing that according to James 4:7, “… that God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble.” In addition to Ephesians 2:8-9, look up the following verses and meditate on God’s grace in your life: John 1:17, Romans 5:20-21, Titus 3:5-7, 2 Timothy 2:1. Remember, God has saved you by His grace. It’s a done deal!
