“Livin’ Large is experiencing the new life we have in Christ. It is living the Christian life in the power of the Holy Spirit and it is practicing (Ephesians 4-6) our position (Ephesians 1-3).”
Ephesians 3:20-21
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Paul’s exhortation to be Livin’ Large begins in verse one of Ephesians chapter four. The immediate verses that precede this charge are a statement of God’s infinite resources and power available to every believer. Every believer can be Livin’ Large, not because of their talents but because of who they are in Christ and what they have available to them in Christ. God is able to do immeasurably more than all you could ask or imagine. Stop for a moment and think about God—He is bigger than your thoughts! Imagine what God could do in your life—He can do more! God is eternal, self-existent, self-sufficient, all-powerful, all-knowing and unlimited in every one of His attributes and perfections. God is God! And according to Ephesians 3:20, this power is at work within us. Think about it, you have God inside of you, at work in you and available to work through you. You can experience Livin’ Large!
Meditate for a few moments on the greatness of God. Take out a piece of paper and brainstorm all the attributes, characteristics and perfections of God. Read Psalm 145, Isaiah 40 and Romans 8:28-39 and add any new insights to your list. Now pray back to God all of your observations; thank Him for who He is and ask Him to work in your life. Livin’ Large is drawing upon and trusting in Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. When we think about Him, when we trust in Him and when we Live Large in Him, it brings Him glory! Amen
