“Livin’ Large is experiencing the new life we have in Christ. It is living the Christian life in the power of the Holy Spirit and it is practicing (Ephesians 4-6) our position (Ephesians 1-3).”
Ephesians 1:3
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
This verse tells us something about God and it tells us something about ourselves. God is One who sovereignly, graciously and eternally blesses us in Christ. He is good and kind and holy. He acts independently of any outside coercion. He is not led by some inadequacy in Himself but on the contrary, He operates out of an eternal self-sufficiency. He does not need any guidance or counsel. He is infinitely wise and He is comprehensively aware of everything including everything about us. He freely blesses because He chooses to do so. We are the objects of God’s love and He has chosen to bless us in Christ. In fact, He has chosen to bless us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. As a believer, you already have everything God wants to give you in Christ. You are complete in Him. You have everything you need in Him and you have fullness in Him. Whatever sense of emptiness, want or lack you may feel, it is imagined not real. God has blessed you and He has blessed you completely in Christ!
This knowledge of God and of ourselves should prompt us to worship, to praise and to give thanks. It should renew our minds, increase our faith and rejoice our souls. Take some time to meditate on this one verse: “3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Ask God to speak to you and to fill you with the hope and positive vision this verse provides. Commit it to memory and periodically bring it to mind. You are a blessed person, blessed by God, blessed in Christ, blessed with every spiritual blessing!
