“Livin’ Large is experiencing the new life we have in Christ. It is living the Christian life in the power of the Holy Spirit and it is practicing (Ephesians 4-6) our position (Ephesians 1-3).”
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Livin’ Large means that we are living a supernatural life. It is Christ’s life in us and we live it in the power of the Holy Spirit. When we live in the Spirit, He produces in us His fruit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The fruit of the Spirit is the natural (or should I say supernatural) overflow of Livin’ Large. The key is abiding in Christ, trusting in Christ, drawing upon our blessings in Christ, living in union with Christ, experiencing the co-crucified and co-resurrected life in Christ. Christ’s life is reproduced in us as we walk in the Spirit. Romans 8:9-11 says,
“9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.”
The Holy Spirit reproduces the resurrection life of Christ in us. When we live by the Spirit, which is Livin’ Large, we bear the Spirit’s fruit. He produces in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Our part is to daily yield to the Spirit; to ask Him to control our lives and to live daily live in union with Jesus Christ.
Take a moment to surrender your life to the control of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to fill you and produce His fruit in you. Look for opportunities to represent Christ and to bear spiritual fruit. Livin’ Large is living a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled life.
